What is Stewards of Children® training?
It is a 3-hour award-winning, evidence-informed program designed to teach adults how to prevent, recognize, and react appropriately to child sexual abuse. The training is facilitated live in-person or on Zoom and includes video segments featuring subject matter experts, facilitated discussion, and interactive workbook questions.
How is the training delivered?
The training is available in-person or live on Zoom, making it accessible for communities across Canada, including rural and northern regions. Our team is happy to travel to any community in Canada that wants to protect children from sexual abuse.
What resources are provided during the training?
Participants receive a workbook that becomes their personal prevention plan, a local resource guide that contains contact information for reporting concerns as well as seeking support, and a certificate of attendance, which is often eligible for continuing education credits.

Does the training include follow-up support?
Yes, post-training support is available through phone calls, emails, and a newsletter community to help participants introduce prevention practices in their organizations. Priority Kids is able to provide supplemental training to help reinforce prevention practices for communities that want to deepen their knowledge.
How long does the training take?
The core training is 3 hours, including video segments, discussions, and hands-on workbook activities.
What is included in the participant evaluation process?
Participants can complete pre- and post-training assessments to measure knowledge gained. Confidential evaluation results are also shared with the hosting organization.

We have delivered prevention training to organizations like Brigadoon Village Summer Camp, RCMP Victim Services Volunteers, West Hants Recreation, Nova Scotia Community College Early Childhood Educators, Deer Lake First Nation School, Women’s Place Resource Centre, and Survivors of Abuse Recovering (SOAR).
